Meet Lasse – our very own “Minister of Fishing Nets”

From a summer job to a lifelong career

Lasse started with a summer job at a net repair workshop at just 12 years old. This year, he celebrates 50 years of experience repairing, selling and developing equipment for the fishing industry. He has spent the last twelve years with Mørenot.

Throughout his career, he has developed an in-depth understanding of fishing gear and the demands of working on board. In the interview, he discusses practical improvements that can make equipment more durable and everyday work easier and safer.

For Lasse, developing better equipment starts with understanding the challenges fishers face and recognising how both new ideas and existing solutions can help.

Sharing experience with the next generation

During Nor-Fishing, Lasse also served as a mentor in Student Camp, where students worked on new ideas for the fishing industry.

The students benefited from his extensive experience. In the interview, he also praises their knowledge and ideas. Learning goes both ways: Lasse contributes practical industry experience, while the students bring fresh perspectives and technological insight.
