Mørenot expands in Spain

The Mørenot Group has acquired the remaining shares in the company Delta Aqua Redes, based in Tarragona Spain.

The company manufactures and services all types of nets for fish farmers in the Mediterranean area. Also nets for Tuna farming, an industry that has shown rapid increase in some of the countries around the Mediterranean.

CEO in Mørenot Aquaculture and Chairman in Delta Aqua Redes, Bente Lund Jacobsen, informs that Mørenot now owns 100% of the company which today has a turnover of EUR 3 million and employ 25 people. The company is budgeting for a strong future growth.

In 2011 the Mørenot Group purchased 80% of the shares in Delta Aqua Redes from the Mediterranean aquaculture giant Andromeda Group. Delta Aqua Redes was already manufacturing and servicing nets, but as this was not the core business of the Andromeda Group they invited Mørenot in as a professional partner on these activities. Export Manager, Nina Hildre, has been involved in the Mørenot Group’s Mediterranean activities since the early 1990’s and thinks that further commitment and growth in this market is a natural process for the company.

“We have appreciated working together with Andromeda Group and look forward to further cooperation with them as a supplier,” Bente Lund Jacobsen says.

Delta Aqua Redes has just signed a five year contract for service and supply of nets to Andromeda Iberica, the Group’s Spanish operation. Managing director in Delta Aqua Redes, Albert Comas, is very satisfied with this agreement. Comas thinks that a long term contract with one of the main actors in the Mediterranean market will have a significant impact on the future of Delta Aqua Redes.
