Mainstream Norway has
signed a new contract with Helnessund Bøteri AS, which is part
of the MøreNot group. The
contract is valued at 7 million, and Mainstream will buy all their
nets for 2011 from
Helnessund Bøteri AS.
Mainstream is one of the largest salmon farmers in Norway. After a
thorough round of tenders, MøreNot and Helnessund Bøteri AS, which
Mainstream has worked with for several years, was chosen.
- The cooperation with MøreNot has always worked well for us, and
in this round of tenders their price was definitely the best. We
are satisfied with the quality of the nets they have supplied
previously, which is reassuring when signing a new contract with
the company, said Mainstream's regional manager in Finnmark,
Dagfinn Eliassen.
Mainstream increases their production
Mainstream is a large and important customer for Helnessund
Bøteri AS. In recent years, they have supplied Mainstream with
nets, moorings and they also service their nets.
- We are very pleased that Mainstream has chosen us, and regard
this as an important vote of confidence in our services, said
Kenneth Larsen of Helnessund Bøteri AS
The cooperation with Mainstream started in the late 1980's. MøreNot
already had a service station in Hammerfest at this stage.
Mainstream are now poised to increase their production to make full
use of their licensed volume.
This contract was won against hard competition from other
manufacturers in the industry. Although we have been supplying
equipment to Mainstream for a long time, it is important for
us to be competitive at all times. Therefore, we see this new
contract as a signal that Mainstream are confident of the quality
we deliver, says Larsen.
Chose delivery from China
The contract is an important recognition for MøreNot's
commitment to the delivery of quality nets from China. More and
more manufacturers are now manufacturing nets overseas. Mainstream
has therefore chosen to have the nets produced in China for this
new contract.
- We have decided to go for nets produced in China because they are
the most competitive on price. We are of course a little anxious
about these deliveries, but feel confident that the quality of the
nets made in China will be equal to what we have had previously
from MøreNot, says Eliassen.
